Kingdom People #5: The Cross & The Lynching Tree

In this episode, Rev. Sara WG & Laura VanderTop will provide some introductory thoughts to the book that we will be discussing together later this month. This conversation sets up some of the discourse in the book and some encouragement for ways into reading it.

The Cross and the Lynching Tree is Dr. James Cone’s theological treatise on the interconnectedness of Jesus’ cross and the American lynching tree, exploring how Jesus’ crucifixion provides a lens for understanding racial violence in America.

Take a listen and then please plan to join us for The Cross & The Lynching Tree: Community Conversation + Book Discussion, Saturday, August 22nd from 9:00 – 10:30am via Zoom. Zoom ID: 445-724-8431.

Let’s continue the journey with The Cross & The Lynching Tree as we prayerfully consider what it means to live in view of the cross and work for livability for all of God’s Children

Let’s keep following Jesus into the lives of our neighbors.

Let’s keep wrestling.
