My name is Sara Wilhelm Garbers (she/they), M.Div., Ph.D. I am a feminist, ethicist, minister, and non-profit leader. You can follow my professional work here and on social media at Rev. White and Blue.
I am a strategic visionary leader committed who is committed to the realization of the beloved community (as dreamed by MLK). I am a builder of community grounded in diversity, seeking collective embodiment of the public and private work of love as justice in our world (as named by Cornell West). With over 20 years of progressive leadership experience including 7+ years of senior organizational leadership fostering internal and external relationships across ecumenical, interfaith, and disparate constituencies (internal and external), I am passionate about fostering systems that lead to flourishing of people. I believe that another world and another way of being human is possible (as affirmed by Audre Lorde) and see my work as that of a midwife of freedom (as recorded in Exodus and imagined by David Winnicott).
I am a parent, partner, friend, and human be(coming).
My academic work centers on political, sexual, and feminist ethics, including understandings of the development of identity, formation, trauma, and the self. My efforts are aimed at creating a world in which we all have oxygen enough to breathe and can live truly livable lives.
Please say hi– and thanks for visiting. I’m glad to be in this work with you
With you in hope,
Sara WG
